3800 refers to the series of grab bars, and 3801 is part of that series. 01 refers to the type of grab bar, which is a straight grab bar, 48" or under, that does not require a center support. Any grab bars over 48" long would require a center support and would make it a type 02 grab bar. Attached below is a copy of ASI's grab bar configurations for reference.
